No single plan guarantees success. However, numerous pitfalls when combined frequently guarantee failure. Our job is frequently to stay in the game long enough to sell something. Think of the movie Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise, he never really knows how to win, he just learns a ton about not dying.
Also, some of history’s greatest entrepreneurs, yeah, the wanted to succeed, but they have some kind of genetic hate for losing.

Generally Observed “These Will Kill Founder” Pitfalls - These Apply to Pre Product Market Fit

  1. Building more than 1 core feature
  2. Building any non core features
  3. Using popular but untested tech tooling
  4. Treating design as “make it pretty after”
  5. Treating code quality as “ok if it is trash, we’ll rebuild it later”
  6. Not having a prebuilt community, audience or enterprise sales relationships
  7. Not attempting to pre-sell
  8. Hiring overly cheap or overly expensive talent
  9. Hiring full time anything/anyone
  10. Building solutions in industry where you have no experience
